5 Valuable Tools For The Successful Entrepreneur | Tameka Allen

When I was 8 years old, I remember waking up with one agenda…to watch Saturday morning cartoons.  One of my favorite shows was the Jetsons. The best part of watching it was checking out all the cool tech stuff. From George Jetson’s car turning into a suitcase to Elroy wearing a wrist watch with a tv screen (aka the Apple watch), all I could think was “If only we had that, life would be so much easier”. Well, now that I’m all grown up, I realize there’s one thing I didn’t count on…being overwhelmed with too many tech choices. 😉

In today’s world, it can be easy to download every new app that is available. And before you know it, you’ve got a gazillion different apps you don’t necessarily need or use. Now don’t get me wrong, I love to use technology for the efficiency and convenience. That’s why today, I want to share with you the five tools that the most successful entrepreneurs use to manage their online business.

So, let’s jump right in!

LastPass – Are you tired of trying to remember all the usernames and passwords for your business accounts? If not, keep growing your business and you’ll be there soon enough. Lucky for us, we now have the luxury of using password management systems. LastPass has the capability to securely store your login credentials to all your business accounts. Not only that, but it will generate passwords so you don’t have to create them. I love it so much, I’ve started using it for my personal accounts as well. They also have a Chrome extension so you don’t have to log in to your account to use it. And the best part, it’s free!

Google Drive – Running out of space on that flash drive? I used to experience this until I got on the Google Drive train. Think of Google Drive as your modern version of MS Office on steroids You can store and create Google Docs (like Word), Sheets (like Excel), and Slides (like Powerpoint), and more. Plus you can upload your existing files in other formats. It’s easy to use, convenient, and free. The first 15 GB of storage are free and they sometimes will give you an extra 15 GB. Your files go anywhere you go, literally via any smartphone, tablet, or computer. And you can give your team access to your drive too.

Buffer – Tired of copying your content from one social media platform to another? If so, you need the Buffer app. You can manage your Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Google+, and Pinterest accounts from one platform. I personally use Buffer for my business and I love it. It saves me from going to each platform to post content. It also provides analytics so you know how your content is performing. And did I mention it’s free? Yes, you heard me right – it’s FREE (FYI, posting to Pinterest are for paid accounts only)! Looking to post to your Instagram account? Buffer doesn’t post to Instagram for you but it does offer Instagram reminders for paid accounts. You can read about it here.

Canva – If you need an easy, cost-effective way to create beautiful graphics and documents for your website, blog, and social media content, you should consider using Canva. I use Canva for my own business and I’m definitely not a Graphic Designer. 😉 It’s super easy to use and there are tons of design templates for almost every platform. And just like the other tools listed above, Canva is free. They also offer Canva for Work  that will give you a few more convenient features for only $12.95 a month. Check it out here.

Asana – Have you ever wanted to have one place to organize all your client projects and communication? If yes, you definitely need to give Asana a whirl. Asana is a project management system that allows you to organize your clients, manage projects, set due dates, assign tasks to others, and communicate with them. I love it because it serves as a central location for all my client communication and keeps my inbox clean! Whether you are offering coaching, consulting, or another type of service-based business, you can tweak Asana to fit your needs. Like Buffer and Canva, Asana offers a premium version for $15 a month, but unless you’re managing a team of 15 or more, the free version is more than enough.

So, there you have it. These tools will help keep you organized while saving you tons of time and $$$.
