The #1 Tip To Find Your First (Or Next) Client | Tameka Allen

I can’t believe 2016 is coming to a close so fast. I know this is cliche, but it feels like just yesterday that we brought in the new year! It’s true what they say, time waits for no one! I don’t know about you but I’ve been reflecting on the this year’s achievements and the marks I missed.

As entrepreneurs, we tend to harp on what we have yet to accomplish. Let’s face it, we’re go-getters and we compete with ourselves more than our competition. 🙂 With only 25 days left in the year, you may feel like it’s too late to reach your goals. But, I want to encourage you to take a different perspective…a lot can happen in 25 days. That’s close to an entire month!

Here’s a question for you: If you had to pick one business goal to meet before the end of 2016, what would it be?

Here are some ideas:

Finish your website;

Get a certain number of followers on Facebook or Twitter;

Finish a new lead magnet;

Or get your first (or next) client.

Ah! Now, there’s a juicy goal! Getting your first (or next client), in my opinion, trumps all the other goals to meet before the end of the year. Why? Because, you can have the prettiest website and hundreds of thousands of followers on social media, and have ZERO clients!

So today, I want to share with you the #1 tip to find your first (or next) client in the next 25 days. But first, let me tell you what it’s not. You will not find your next client hiding behind your laptop in your home office or the local coffee shop.

Now, let me clarify something. The reason why I’m sharing this with you isn’t because I want you to take any old client just to make a few bucks. And to be honest, getting your next client isn’t really about the money (although it’s a nice bonus). It’s about fulfilling to your desire to serve others with your undeniable gift. The reason why I’m sharing this with you is simple. Without paying clients, you don’t generate revenue, without revenue, you have a hobby. And most importantly, without generating revenue, you can’t help support your family, give back to your favorite charitable causes, or pay for that dream vacation.

No matter the reason behind meeting your goal, here’s the one thing you must do in order to make it happen….put yourself out there…over, and over, and over again.

If you’re serious about meeting this goal, then now is the time to stop hiding at home, hoping, wishing, and praying a flock of new clients will come running to you. I’m sorry to say this but the old saying,

So, here’s an underutilized marketing tip to put yourself out there and get your first (or next) client – share your business with friends and family. Seriously.

While the vast majority of them may not need what you offer, they will (more than likely) know someone who does.
